i got a job!!!

Posted 11-03-2008 at 05:32 PM by KhanadaRhodes
some of you may remember me mentioning a job interview i went on like a month ago. it's been so long since i went on it, i just assumed i didn't get the job. the head of hr called me today and told me i got the job!

the pay is amazing, to me at least. $13 an hour! given my age and education i'm amazed i'm going to make this much. but hey, i'm not complaining! i go for my drug test tomorrow (if only they knew they were wasting money on this, because i've never done anything)....

tomorrow will be productive

Posted 10-29-2008 at 04:00 AM by KhanadaRhodes
because i am going to inquire about a job, and also go speak with my advisor at college. the current college i'm enrolled in, not any of the ones i've applied to unfortunately.

as for the job, while i'm hoping things will go better since it'll be a face-to-face type thing, i'm also somewhat discouraged by how hard it is to even get a call back. i have applied to about 50 jobs this month, and have only had one call back for an interview. and i thought that went well, but it was right...

college is hard....

Posted 09-27-2008 at 06:45 AM by KhanadaRhodes
....and i've not even enrolled in one yet! here's some back story: for years i've been going to school here on and off since graduating high school. i've changed my major i think...four times? it's been a lot. i think i've finally decided on a career, meteorology. now i need to put this into play.

i'm not sure if i should actually get a bachelor's in meteorology, or the more general earth science. the only reason i'm not 100% sure about just majoring in meteorology is because...what...

well, the title pretty much sums it up. i've applied to a few colleges, but now i have to decide what i want to do with the rest of my life. i have it narrowed down to two: business or meteorology. the two could not be any more different, i know. me being a business major would guarantee me a job. you can do just about anything with a business degree. but i don't know if i could handle all those boring classes. meteorology is something that has interested me since i was a child, but i'm not sure...

i've applied to two colleges. now to play the waiting game to find out.

basically, it's melbourne versus melbourne.

i've got some serious thinking to do.

i seem to be at a crossroads in my life, where i'm full of cliches about having two paths i can go down and whatever. i consider myself to be someone who isn't afraid of change, but i am afraid of failure. there's something i've really been thinking about doing but i'm just not sure, because if i don't succeed, i'll be totally screwed.

ugh.

ugggggh my foot is annoying me

i had my first foot surgery 23 days ago. however, my foot is still in pain. i can deal with it, whatever. what really bothers me is...i used to pop my ankle. that sounds weird but it's true. the way some people pop/crack their knuckles, i did that to my ankles. i guess it's because of the screw they put in my foot, i can't do it anymore. i'm sure i wasn't supposed to, but that pressure that i'd feel before, the same as what people feel that makes them crack their knuckles is still there. i feel...

i had my first foot surgery today. i'm not in very much pain really, but my foot is still totally numb which freaks me the fuck out. i can't walk on it at all (even if it wasn't numb) and this is my first time using crutches. it's been...interesting. a little bit ago i tried to take too big a stride and managed to hop into the wall

let's see how i do tomorrow

change of scenery

i hate posting twice so close together like this, but i had another thought.

i've made it no secret about my dislike of my job, but it's not just a change of positions i'm wanting. i need a change of scenery. i really need to get out of this town. if i were to move, i have it narrowed down to two places. but the problem is, i have no money to support myself and i have no idea how hard it'd be finding a job out of state.

the only way this would be possible is if i somehow...

my mom knows how stressed out i've been about work, and going to a coworker's wedding might not have been the best thing, as we all ended up talking about work, the future of this department, etc. i know these people weren't trying to get a rise out of me, as they're just trying to hold onto their jobs too. but still, hearing that it sounds like i got passed up for ANOTHER promotion and this department might cease to exist if my boss takes the job offer he got in vegas (which btw his wife got a...

i am really not liking my job as of late.

when we moved over to our current location (corporate offices, which is a MUCH better drive for me than it was actually going to the casino, which is an hour away), we had 36 agents in our department.

now? we have...*counts* 26!! jesus i didn't even know it was that low. and this is counting four new hires we had earlier this year. one of those new hires has now transferred to another department, and out of the remaining...
