Hell, I do damn near anything to avoid watching or listening to it.

I also think I'll fill out my absentee ballot in honour of the debate. The top part of the ballot is as easy as pie, it's some of the state/local issues that can be a bit tricky. But it's going in the mail tomorrow so I don't procrastinate right out of voting.

I'm so sick of the hugely drawn out process that I can't stand to listen to or watch...

We got some remnants of Hurricane Ike on Sunday -- not the rain we usually get from hurricanes, but hurricane force winds. They were amazing! I was outside on my porch with a customer (I sell artwork for a friend) for much of it and it was fantastic to see and hear. I've never been in a hurricane (I'm very happy for that), but it was quite a thrill to be able to experience hurricane force winds (even if they were relatively mild for a hurricane). And...

In the ad the announcer says he took on Republicans on such and such an issue and she battled Republicans on such and such an issue, and then said McCain and Palin -- bringing change to Washington.

Hmm. Ok, I get it. The Republicans are the bad guys (obviously they are since it's such a good thing to "take them on" and "battle" them). So why the fuck would anyone who agrees with this ad vote for MORE Republicans??

I swear whoever planned this...

My oldest cat, Mitzi, made it to 20.

My mum and I got her on election day (first Tuesday of November) in 1988 and when we took her to the vet that day they said she was about eight or nine weeks old. So she's now 20 years old. There have been quite a few times -- a couple this year -- where I didn't think she'd make it, but she's a tough little cat and always responds well to treatment when she gets sick.

I'm in the process of selling a book I bought a few years ago. I didn't really plan to sell it, but I did buy two, so I always figured if the price was right I'd sell one. Well the price is right -- I bought the book for $50 and I'm selling it for $275. I'm pretty pleased. And I still have one left.

Just Tuesday I just finished up the sale of three of SK's paintings to a guy and he's already contacted me about buying several more. Always a huge thrill to make a good sized sale, so I'm pretty happy.

The bad news isn't mine, but SK's. His two oldest daughters (identical twins) have Syringomyelia, disorder in which a cyst or cavity forms within the spinal cord. Obviously this can cause all sorts of problems. From what I understand, one daughter has few if any symptoms and...

Of all the pictures the SMH website could have used of an Australian racewalker winning a bronze medal in the 20km race, they chose one of him puking his guts out just after finishing.

The poor guy -- he does a great job and wins a medal when he apparently wasn't supposed to, and the online pic everyone back home gets to see is him mid-barf.
