I'm listening right now to an amazing documentary on Canadian singer Joni Mitchell. I've always been a casual fan, but I really don't know most of her work in great detail. It's a kind of national obligation here in Canada to appreciate her...and now as I'm hearing about her life, I fully understand why.

For anyone who hasn't caught up with the news, the official transcript of infamous Flight 93 was released in court today. For a few moments, as I was reading it online at work, the events of September 11th came flooding back. I'm not going to quote anything here, but what really tears at me is the last-minute desperation to stay alive. It's heart-wrenching to contemplate the sheer terror on board, the needless elimination of life...for what? It amazes me what we can do to each other.
