Yep, it's that time of year, kids. The company I work for had another great year, and I personally did well (I guess). All adds up to a nice little bonus, even bigger than last year.

So what should I get?

Last year, I got a new HD camcorder. The year before that, I got a beautiful Nikon SLR camera. So with money left over from last year's bonus, and with this one bigger than ever, I'm looking at bigger things...

My day consists of getting up between 6-7am, getting kids ready for school, getting myself ready for work, working all day, coming home, having dinner, getting kids to bed, and then...

I just find I have no energy left whatsoever. I'm always so tired. I can't get myself to workout like I used to because I always have that exhausted feeling. So I just crash on the couch for an hour or two and then go to bed.

I haven't posted an entry in a while.

My stepfather had his second surgery a while ago, this one to remove the cancer. It went smoothly, and hopefully he won't have it come back. He's considering some basic chemo, but it was only Stage 1 cancer, and not everyone agrees that it's needed. Some "experts" say do it anyway, while some don't think it helps that much.

But he's doing very well so far, and that's the most important thing right now.

My stepfather gave me a call last Wednesday. He's recovering well from his bypass and is getting a few weeks of rest in before he moves on to the next thing (see previous journal entries).

Anyway, he asked me if I'd be around on Saturday for an hour or so. Sure I say. He tells me that one of his neighbors down the street is the new NH Speaker of the House, and that she was having a small event at her house for her Democratic neighbors. Since my mother had to work, he asked if...

Well, the bypass surgery went well this morning. By all indications he seems to be doing great.

Too bad he's going to have to have another surgery in a week or so. I just hope his body can handle it.

My stepfather was originally scheduled for an angiogram when it was discovered he had a small tumor in his lung, which was determined to be cancer and was scheduled to be removed today.

Unfortunately, during the pre-tests leading up to the surgery, he got a positive result from a stress test, which upon further examination led to the discovery of his three main arteries to the heart (plus a smaller one) being either partially or totally blocked.

He now needs a quadruple...

Last year it was much smaller, but I still got myself a nice digital camera with it, which I love. This year, however, it's more than twice as much!

What should I buy?

Or at least the one in the lower left corner of my mouth, which broke through my gums and is the source of my pain (see entry from last week).

I was given Amoxicillin and Vicodin to help with the pain until I get it done - most likely a week from tomorrow.

Now I've got to decide if I just get the one pulled, or do all of them. Obviously, it would be better to just get them all out of there at once, but I found out my insurance only covers half the cost, and per tooth...

I have good teeth, but bad gums. And I've been very bad at taking care of them, as I haven't been to a dentist in a few years.

But yesterday morning I woke up and the whole left side of my mouth is hurting big time. My gums are so swollen that I can barely feel the last tooth on the bottom left side.

To top that off, I never had my wisdom teeth removed, and I have a feeling they are starting to break through.

So to put it simply, my mouth is a wreck....

Shoveled not once, not twice, but three times between yesterday afternoon and this morning. My back is killing me.

The first time took the longest, as I didn't get my ass outside until 3pm. It took forever to clear the driveway, and by the time I got to the end, the plow came. At that point, I gave up until later.

A few hours later, it was more or less over, and I went out to finish. Of course, by that time it was sleeting and it was getting even harder to shovel....
