We had the funeral for Grandma yesterday.

I tried to help as much as I could from home with all of the arrangements, but my parents assured me that everything was taken care of.

Supposedly, all the prep had been paid for and arranged when we put Grandma in the home some 17 months ago.
I soon found this not to be the case.

When I got to the visitation, nothing was organized and few things were correct.

Funny how one is never really ready to let go.
I've known that this was gonna happen for months now, and somehow I'm still surprised.

I finally got the scrapbook done. It looks good.

I was going to make one of those gigantic posters with pictures all over, but then I thought it would be nice to make something that my sister would like to keep.

So, I'm going to make a scrapbook for my Grandma's funeral. I went to the craft store and got tons of little sticker thingies for camping, Mexico, Hawaii, grand-daughters, all kinds of stuff to make different pages about different times in her life.

Yep.
20 years.
Had plans for a really nice time and it all kinda went to the pooper as usual.

One week prior: the 21 year old tv wears out, my cell phone goes blank, I get bad news at doctor, and the brakes go out on the truck.

Week of: we get new tv, new cell phone, new body (I wish) and new brakes.

Ok, so everything is gonna be ok. Right?
We drop off the dogs at the kennel. She tells us that she is closing up for good at the end...

Coming out of work last night, we see the most beautiful moon. Glowing sort of orange and almost full.

To the North, I notice something even more spectacular. It looked like a huge comet or astroid. It was enormous. And scary. And all those things start going thru my mind, hundreds of thousands of things in a flash.
One of them being 'This is the end of life as we know it, this is finally it. Once that thing hits, most of the East Coast will be gone.

I've been on vacation all wk and all I've done is get ready for a yard sale.
But...the sale is going to have to wait because we have a funeral to go to in S Carolina.

I'll have to take a few extra vacation days for the trip.

I was really looking forward to having the sale and getting rid of a bunch of stuff. At least I made $7 from a lady who was passing by as I was pricing/cleaning everything. She got two lamps and a papertowel holder.

Its cold and rainy.
The sun is far, far away behind the grey clouds.
The ground is muddy.
I have an extremely unwanted doctors appointment for later today.

Strangest thing.
A woman approaches me with a big smile. She looks vaguely familiar so I smile back.
She joins me in line and starts talking....the usual stuff.
Her: So, how are you?
Me: Fine, and you?
Her: Oh, kids have been so sick. How are your folks.
Me: Oh, just great. Talked to them about a vacation yesterday.
And yours?
Her:Oh, just fine. Mom is....

And I realize that I don't know this person at all.

DJ's little sister, Pearl, is going to come live with us.
She was the runt of the litter, #13
She is half of DJ's size and has been with her mom this whole time.
The owners are moving and have to get rid of all of their 5 dogs.
I wish we could take the mom too, but its just not possible.
One of my security guards is thinking about taking her. If so,
DJ and Pearl would be able to see her all the time

OMG, Its over.

After stressing out so very much about organization, having enough people, filling out all the paper work.....
My boss said that she was proud of me, that it went extremely well for my first time.
We only had one mishap with a scanner/download, but set record time on the rest of the night.

I feel so relieved now.
Now I have one full year under my belt and can start the new year out fresh.
No one else's numbers to go against,...
