How long after the game was that? Everyone in the bleachers is pretty much gone

I noticed that last week when I got lost in that neighborhood. Had no idea it was so close to Wrigley

Headache, I've got that picture beat...

Me, last year, smoking a cigarette down the third base line at Wrigley...Cubs vs. Cards...decked out in White Sox gear

Yeah, that's right, I'm a rule-breaker.

A couple blocks could be about a mile, right?

In unrelated notes, I cruised out to see the Mets in Denver on Saturday night. Coors is a GREAT new ballpark. And LoDo is pretty cool to hang out in after the game.

Pedro sucked for one inning.

Coors aint all that new. But it is nice, and the area is cool.

Lincoln Park is my hood, for the record.

GAF, how many times in your life has someone just randomly walked up to you and punched you in the face?

Just random dudes...twice.

If you count bouncers knocking me out that number goes up a great deal.

And then if you count girls...well I don't have enough fingers or toes to count that high.

You're rapidly becoming one of my favorite posters around here, despite the fact that you look like someone I'd want to punch in the face.

Not me. I think he's a blight on society. Bring back prohibition, I say.

I was so utterly unimpressed with Denver. Coors is cool and so is the football stadium (whatever the hell they call it) but LoDo is like 3 blocks. It was freakin impossible to get a cab there. The views were stunning in places but as a city, it was just "meh."

However, they sell burritos from coolers outside the bars in LoDo. Potato burritos. Mmmmm. . .

Re: wrigley

Headache,

what you say about Wrigley is true but the lack of intensity is due to who has access to Cubs tickets. The die-hard Cub fans, not the collar popped frat boys, tourists, and girls who go to games b/c it's "cool" and to socialize, don't go to many games. There are lots of reasons for this.

If you were sitting in the bleachers you would have heard some chanting:

"RIGHT FIELD SUCKS! RIGHT FIELD SUCKS!"

"LEFT FIELD SUCKS! LEFT FIELD SUCKS!"

I can't make that shit up. If you ever have the opportunity, take in a game at the Cell. Even zoney enjoyed himself. :foamfinger:

Wrigleyville is a cool place most of the time. My sister lived on Grace & Southport, just 3 blocks or so from Wrigley but the parking was so bad she and her roommate moved. Southport is where it's at as far as bars go. If you're ever in the city again hit up the bars on Southport. I'll meet ya there and buy you a drink.
