Should it appear in the BB200 anyway? I think it re-enter at the BB pop catalog album charts.

Hopefully it will have been re-certified and we can get a close to exact figure of copies shipped. The last time it was certified was like over ten years ago wasn't it?
I'm wondering how well this re-issue will sell. Obviously it won't sell another 5 million or anything but I reckon it will chart around the world, albeit probably not top 5. |

The Joshua Tree "Deluxe Edition" ends up at #85 on Billboard's Comprehensive Top 200 albums for the week. That's only good enough for #20 on the Pop Catalog Chart and #10 on the Top 20 Music DVD Chart.
However, at $60 a pop, with no new music or material here, U2 are making a killing on this release. This is probably the first time I have not gone out and bought U2's now annual DVD/CD release. I watched the DVD on Fuse & VH1-Classic, already have all the b-sides, and the album many times over. For the newer and/or younger fans, I can't imagine how it feels to be introduced to one of the greatest albums of all time. There's nothing like the real thing, though...to go back to 1987 and live through what was for me "the year of U2", a glorious summer and following sophmore year in college, when U2 were THE band on campus and seeing them on the Joshua Tree Tour just outside of Nashville was simply incredible. Those were the days... |
