We'll see how she does the next time she goes to the litter box.

Yeah I keep pushing the water-bowl on her...I don't really know how to force a cat to drink

She did just have some more diarrhea, but she continues to act relatively normal.

I have a campaign staff training thing all day tomorrow but I'm tempted to not go so I can keep an eye on her.

My friend had a hell of a time trying to calm her down enough to get the elastic off.
So after those ordeals I dont have anymore hanging, dangling, toys of any kind. Not to mention if they ingest them, they can easily become blocked and need surgery to remove the foreign objects.

Fortunately, the way things are now, we're always around when the toy is on the door, so we're there to supervise, but honestly, I probably wouldn't have even thought of the potential for danger when they get older and I feel more comfortable about leaving them alone. On this one, the elastic string is *very* thin, and that's the first thing that broke on it, but I'm sure it could still do some damage if they got caught in it the wrong way.
Thanks again! I'll definitely only let them play with it when I'm right there, now.
All these things scare the hell out of me and it's even more so because some days I'm gone from 8:30 to 6:30pm.
Jack has already gotten hung up in the backing of my bedroom curtains, that he ripped to shreads. I keep my door shut now. Max got hung up in the only line for the telephone I have in case the power goes out, the rest are cordless. They have knocked the power cords out of the wall for my TV, dvd and computer. I've hung the cords to my mini blinds up higher so they aren't tempted to jump for them. And Jack has fallen in the toilet.
It's crazy and you literally have to get down on the floor and crawl around like a toddler or even worse - a kitten/cat to find the dangers.
I swear I'm not being over protective, these are just things that have happened so far. Just tonight Jack and Max tried to jump in the f'ing oven when I was taking some baked chicken out. I had been gone all day and let them run loose for a little while. VP - Never let your kittens out when you are cooking. Mine will jump into the frying pan. Just because I'm there.

Live and learn.
I was going to say, before I got kicked off the internet for some reason, that "live" is the operative word here.

This is SO true. You have to do this when you have kittens.

Rickenbacker (Ricky) jumped up onto the stove (gas stove) just as I was turning it on one day. Whoosh!!! Ricky got singed and it scared the crap out of him (and me! Luckily not literally for either of us ). Now whenever I turn on the stove and he hears the click he runs out of the room.

I'm all electric, so no clicking.
Now, if I could just figure out how to open the fridge without Jack and Max jumping into it, that would be great.
I closed Jack in the fridge one time, accidentally. (really, I swear
He didn't care. I opened it up when I didn't see him, and the little shit was still exploring. I had to pull him out.
I'm seriously going to write a book.
Memoirs of a cat mommie.

^ ^^ omg.. cats and major appliances

Years ago my family's cat used to love to lay on the clothes when the warm laundry was just removed from the dryer. One day my mom and I were in our kitchen talking and we both sort of became aware of a thumping sound coming from the dryer... like how it sounds when you put something like shoes in to dry. We both were like are you drying shoes? No are you? We stopped to listen and at the same moment we also realized we heard a faint cat cry... we both just looked at each other and ran to the dryer in the other room ... our kitty was very dazed and shaken but OK. Luckily it hadn't been very long, and he never ever jumped into the dryer again when no one was looking. We also kept the door closed while doing laundry.

We've had major accidents/trauma with our kittens and glad we were home when they happened. When they had had surgery and had those cones on there heads, Smokey would use his back feet to push it up to try to get it off his head. Then it would get caught in his mouth and he'd totally freak. Someone would have to get him, hold him, and another person would have to untie the tie they had on it and get it off. Not fun.

But *way worse* -- we have barstools with wrought iron backs at our breakfast bar. Jack was playing on the stool, playing with me through the wrought iron and somehow got his head through one area and then caught. He went ballistic and started flipping and freaking out. I'm surprised he didn't break his neck. Thankfully, my DD was there, too, because I had her get hold of his body to hold him and I worked his head back out -- we also laid the chair down on the floor so he couldn't hang himself. He scratched us up with his back claws, but I'm surprised the little fool didn't break his neck or strangle himself. Scary moments!

They do grow into them, somewhat. I'll have to post their "rescue center" pictures when they were teeny little babies -- they're definitely all ears!

Chloe continued to have diarrhea overnight, so I'm taking her to the vet in about 15 minutes.

Hopefully it's nothing serious

Phew.

OK, well the vet seems to think it was just stress induced. They took her temp, everything else about her was fine. He gave me 3 packets of powdered stuff to sprinkle on her food once a day for 3 days, and if things don't clear up by monday I'm to call, but it looks like everything should be fine.

Scary cat stories, everyone, especially bonocomet and indra! It's amazing the things they can get into, that you'd never think of.

Mine have been okay so far (knock on wood). I'm not sure if it's been luck, or my paranoia that's caused me to be vigilant at scoping out potential dangers before they can get to them. That's why it took me so long to let them out of their room - it took me ages to move things and block access to anything that could have been dangerous. They're basically allowed into three rooms downstairs, and two upstairs, the bathroom, one bedroom and the laundry area are blocked off. They've never really bothered with the stove. I use the oven a lot, so maybe it's because they've gotten to know that it's hot? They do try to climb into the fridge though. I seem to always be shooshing one of them away with my foot when I close the fridge door. Some of them seem *very* interested in the kitchen sink when I do the dishes, especially Jack. I have a matching bench on one side of my kitchen set, and he gets up on that, and stretches out as far as he can, and tries to climb up my back so he can see what I'm doing. Most of the occurrences these days are of the "what have they gotten into/knocked over/scattered around the house now" sort, thank goodness. (I was a very paranoid, overprotective human mother, too.)

I was thinking of you guys this morning - glad everything's okay.
