The kittens are driving me NUTS. We hosted a birthday party Friday night, and I was going to put them in their room, but decided at the last minute not to. I wanted to see how they'd be, and figured that if they got to be too pesky, I could always put them in later. They were amazing - cute, adorable, extremely well behaved. Since then? They've been hellions, into everything. (Just as I was typing this, one of them climbed into our empty aquarium!) There's one area we're trying to keep them out of that's really hard to block off - behind a media storage thing and our television in the living room. Before, it was only Abby who tried to get back there, now four of them are doing it! I have to sit here with the squirt bottle in my hand constantly, and that doesn't even work because they wait till my attention's elsewhere for a split second, and they scoot. And they *know* when I'm not watching, I swear they sit there and wait for me to become occupied for a sec.

Damn, they're fast.

I don't know if this is true or not, but I thought that cats didn't like the scent of orange. If so, can you spray something in the areas where you don't want them to go?

I know they can be frustrating, but it made me smile big-time to read this!

Altogether now - aaaaaaaaaa

My son came over last night to get me to update his resume, and ask me why I had all this shit on my floor. I walked to the bedroom and let the kittens out and he undersood. They were curious about him so on the table they went. Of course I had laid my mail there when I came in.
Before I got back to the dining room - It all went flying off the table to the floor, along with one fluffy white kitten, Jack, but Max was right behind him.
Son had nothing else to say. I just don't have a place to put everything up or in -and I'm tired when I come home at night. I don't want to clean up every minute. It's either lock them in the room, which I do or deal with it. Which I do -by here.
I'm with you VP. I know exactly what you are going through.
(well not quite, you have 3 times as many as I do )

Then there are the moments like right now, Jack is on the back of my chair, half on my shoulder and Max is curled up next to the keyboard purring away. I tend to forget about the other.
Of course I can't move, either.

He liked me to squeeze pink grapefruit (canned slices) and he'd lick the juice. Same with green olives. I think he also liked applesauce.

And yes, Jack is a metrosexual kitteh -- color-coordinated all the way!
