Me neither.

Cats are so misunderstood sometimes.

Better them there than on the floor in the way. She can't stand it when they walk behind her shoulders. Right now I have two cats behind mine. Maybe they are planning to bite my jugular...but they aren't stupid, they know who feeds them!
years ago when my son Paul was young, my sister said to keep my cat out of the room because she ( the cat) would put her mouth up to Pauls and steal his breath.
I laughed so hard and informed her the only way Toonses (yes, the driving cat from SNL, for those in the know ) could hurt him would be to lay on his head and suffocate him. Of course, that never happened.

Enjoy you're new love, Laz & arw - and I can't wait for pics.

ets: Just saw your pics arw. soooo cute
I'm behind the times lately.

Alright folks. Prepare for some serious cute overload. The kitty arrived at our house late in the afternoon, then just me and my roommate playing with her for a few hours. We have a lot of space, so she spent a lot of time exploring everything.

I gave her food eventually, and afterwards I put her in the litter box just to show her where it was. She jumped right out of it, so I put her back in and combed the litter with my hand to show her what to do, and she followed my example. It remains to be seen whether or not she will put 2 and 2 together and actually use it as a toilet.

We bought this bungee thing that hangs from a doorknob and has feathers and furry stuff on it, when they pull it back and let go it whips in the other direction, and then they go after it again. She really seems to like that.

We have a tentative name, but we're going to see how we like it before making it official. Not sure about the spelling, but it's either Micky, Micki, Mikki, something like that. You get the idea.

Anyway, here are some highlights from the first set of pictures:

OMG its gray. What are you trying to do to me.

As long as you showed her where the litterbox is, she should use it. She looks about 10 weeks or so, she should know how to use it.

awwww that kitten is adorable! looks blue in the first pic!
As long as you show them the litterbox, they should figure out themselves to use it cats are smart animals!

That's exactly what I do (put them in a few times, show them to scratch the litter) and out of 9 cats so far we haven't had an accident (not counting those due to my negligence..closing the door to the room with the litter!). If I am worried they can't find their way back to the box, I keep them confined to one room for a few days. Now that I have more than one cat, I have to do this anyway so they can all slowly get used to each other.

Once I had a 4 week old abandoned kitten that we were trying to wean and train in the litter box. She figured it out in one day! I kept showing her how to scratch but she would walk away and then finally a lightbulb went of and the little kitteh was ferociously digging in the litter pan!

Some bad news... my co-workers cat died. A few days ago he didn't show up for work, so I asked my boss and he said he was "sick". But then yesterday I overheard my boss say "I'm sorry about your cat..." I didn't know what happened but didn't want to ask. Then today I overheard the co-worker tell someone he was looking for his cat and found a piece of her charm on the side of the road, so I think she was hit by a car. She was only 2.
