One of my chores around the house is to do the kitchen. Lily always has to "help" everytime I clean. She usually starts on the floor and follows me back and forth but eventually she hops up on the bar stool once I start cleaning the floor. I think she's afraid of the swifers! She especially likes to help empty the dishwasher. I'm waiting for her to try to jump in there!

LOL! out cat, the big one, does funny things.

she props herself up against the big TV to clean her bum!

OMG the speaker covers are plucked to ****!
and other areas round home.

cats, eh? even when you change things/get new stuff - as adults they still like to get 'em claws out!'

If you have cats, there is no point in buying new stuff

My wife and I learned a long time ago that if you have nice/breakable stuff either put up someplace high out of reach or pack it away...

Sooooo true.

The only new stuff I get anymore is cats. And that just makes the problem worse.

I know.. I think If I hung things from the ceiling, Jack would jump untill he was high enough to get it. He tried to jump on the highest thing I have which is a mircrowave stand. I have all my plants out of reach on top of this and a bakers rack. There is no free space on either, untill - he jumped up there, from the counter and knocked 2 plants off. He's a mess, I tell ya.

Neo or Murphy (probably Neo!) used to try to jump from the bed up to grab the ceiling fan cords. Impossible, even for him.

My DD used to have a moon-shaped window over her patio door (about 10 ft off the ground.) He figured out how to jump up on the counter, then up on the refrigerator, and from the refrigerator to a plant shelf ledge, then up to the window. Used to scare me to see him up there!

None of the cats in the new house, however, have gotten on top of the kitchen cabinets (which are probably at the 10 ft. level). It would be easy .. cabinet, to refrigerator, to cabinet top -- but it's just as well they don't know that.

I love how our big one, if we are out tidying round the garden and its sunny, she just lays her butt down in the heat and watches. I always let her sniff what I lift.
she would lay on chair, or shed-roof, and stretch one paw out, like she is 'the coolest in the world'

she has no fear.

but she hates you putting face near her. is that, just, some cats are like that? or something feared her when she was a kitten with her mother or those rearing?

Here's something odd. My sister's rescued Siamese, Fredo, won't use a litter box when he is away from home. My sister will often spend Sunday night at my parents' house b/c we always do a family dinner and it saves her time on her commute on Monday. She brings fredo's box from her place but he won't use it. He will pee on the litter mat in front of my parents cats' box. She even left a little chunk of used litter in his box.

He uses his box at her house. When she first brought him home he peed on the shag/ frieze runner she got for him. He doesn't like long carpet. double When she replaced the little area rug with one with a short/tight weave he's been fine. I think she should take him to the vet. Anyone have a similar experience?
