The Boston Phoenix declares the best all-time band, best all-time solo artist, and best new band from each state.

Yeah, yeah, it's yet another subjective list, but neat to see the bands that came out of unexpected states.

As far as I know, you have to click on all the states. I guess it depends on a) how interested you are in seeing all of them; and b) how much spare time you have.

for NJ, the misfits vs. frankie valli and the four seasons

that's got to be the craziest band vs. band i've ever heard. yes, let us compare "walk like a man" and "last caress." brilliant.

personally, my favorite jersey band is the hudson falcons vs. the bouncing souls -- slightly less insane (keeping springsteen to the solo section, of course).

hmmm. i didn't know the long winters were from alaska. but the name makes sense...
