Not on morphine, if that's what you were wondering!

I was on vacation. Vegas and the Grand Canyon, only some of the time spent wanting to strangle my dad.

I have the same exact thoughts!

Everytime I hear "No Cars Go" by Arcade Fire, I get chills, esp. around the part: "Children, let's go!"

Even if you HAD strangled your dad, you still would have been topped in the Weird Family Stories category this week by Muldfield's admission of enjoying watching dirty movies with his brother.

I feel you. That's one of the absolute peaks of that album.

Ain't too bad live, either.

Ha ha haaaaaaa

In other, musical randomness news, I think I could sing the entirety of Jesus Christ Superstar from memory.

Make of that what you will.

Maybe it's because I grew up listening to the original cast album, but I could never get into the dude who played Judas in the movie. I prefer Murray Head.

I so dig Heaven On Their Minds.

"JEESUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUS!"

Admit it: you love to sing all the diva songs, don't you?

I prefer the Madonna version of Evita to the Patti LuPone version, because Madonna did everything in a lower key and therefore I can sing along to it.

In the last two months, I've been initiated and run through the catalogs of David Bowie and Pink Floyd. It's like constant victory in a drug, guys.

I can sound out a mean version of the guitar riff at the beginning, but I haven't got the slightest idea of how to replicate it with typing ... without it looking like I'm trying to sound out 70s porno music.

bowm bowmga BOWM ba-BOWM ba-GOWM ba-GOWM!

Returning to pre-Broadway discussions.....

You can legally stream the entire new Portishead album on Last FM. I definitely need to listen to this sucker this week.

I haven't listened to any Morphine in quite a while. I only have the best of. Though they're really not similar at all, for some reason I always think of Galaxie 500 when I think of Morphine. Maybe it's because I bought both of their best of's around the same time?
