Ahhhh I remember the first time I ran through Pink Floyd's catalogue. Memories. Listening to Dark Side of the Moon for the first time was a revelation....I thought I had just been let in on the big secret of the universe. Now I think it's just a pretty good album. What did you think of Dark Side on the first listen or have you even gotten to it yet? |

MY TEMPLE SHOULD BEEEEEEEE THE HOUSE OF PRAYER BUT YOU HAVE MADE IIIEEEEEEEAAAAT THE DEN OF THEEEEE-EEEE-EEEVES! I need to look up more Morphine albums next time I'm at JB Hi-Fi. For some reason, I could never really get into Dark Side of the Moon as a whole album though I love the individual songs.

![]() I hate those things, too. And yes, I get a little sad when I can't get some Bruce at the bar when all the idiots want to keep playing Three Days Grace and Creed. ![]() |

I didn't suggest a Random Music Talk thread so it could slip to the bottom of page 2! No sir!
How about this: Eric Avery plays with the other original members of Jane's Addiction for the first time since '91?? When they played stark naked in Hawaii? HOLYFUCKINGSHIT!! http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080424/music_nm/nme_dc While I always felt Eric A was the least integral part of the band (and was ably replaced by Flea on the reunion tours), the Strays album was uneventful and maybe we can partially blame that on his absence. Doesn't look like this is going to be a permanent reunion, oh well. |

Rolling Stone -- Best of Rock 2008
main page: http://www.rollingstone.com/news/coverstory/20200609 page 30: http://www.rollingstone.com/news/cov...200609/page/30 On this RollingStone list at #30 out of 45 pages, they have an awesome HALF-HOUR "sample" of Flosstradamus. It's about 1/3 of the way down the page where it says "Play This". I thought it was just going to be a minute or so, but it's at 19 minutes and only 1/2 way through. ![]() |

That's pretty cool, but I think they're severely overrating it.

Malkmus played La Zona Rosa and Cat Power was scheduled to play Stubb's that same night (last Sunday). I had tickets for Cat Power and now it has been bumped back to October 11.
Fuck.

Well, obviously you should have got tickets to SM instead. That band is so amazing now with Janet Weiss in the mix.

Pink Floyd is good at what they do ... however, I'll always prefer artists like U2, Springsteen, and Bowie, who let emotion take them somewhere I've yet to hear Pink Floyd go. That's the one thing that lacks in Pink Floyd's work, to me: a passion that takes the songs to climaxes and powerful endings.

I listened to PF's Animals today.
I forgot how awesome Sheep is, but I may be burned out on Dogs.
