Is Rook one of the best of the year for anyone else?
Pomo, I'm looking in your direction.

Nice. Nice.
I know you don't want to talk about it, but you're going to love "Lost Coastlines" on The Stand Ins.

I want to talk about it, I just have nothing to say other than "I WANT TO HEAR IT NOW!!1!11!!!". Glad to hear that it's good. Okkervil or Jagjaguwar need to hurry and allow pre-orders or something. I don't know why they allowed people to download Stage Names immediately after preordering it last time, but aren't even offering a preorder this time.
Nice sig, by the way. |

I think Blood Sugar Sex Magik is one of the most overrated albums and no matter how many times I listen it still sounds really sub par; please someone tell me why this album is loved so much because seriously I just don't get it

I liked it a lot in college.
But then again, it was college. I also drank really shitty beer that I didn't like, just for the sake of drinking beer.

It was one of the best albums I've ever heard, for sure. I love the punk/ska mix they have going on that album. Some awesome tracks there. I'd say I rank it slightly ahead of Exile on Main St., the other double album I listened to recently.

I don't care for it either. Suck My Kiss is alright, and I would like Under The Bridge if it weren't for the hordes of people who consider it the greatest song ever written by man.

For the ballads I like I Could Have Lied and Breaking the Girl more than Under the Bridge, which was one of the most overplayed songs of the 90's. The title song is great as well.
Blood Sugar is the album that broke them, and has some great stuff for sure. But it's a few songs too long, and inconsistent. I prefer Mother's Milk, which came out right before, and The Uplift Mofo Party Plan, which is pretty old school RHCP. |

That's one of the great things about London Calling, it's so diverse and really has something for everyone.
