Maybe it's shooting for a late '08 release date?
Award-season ftw.

I liked it a lot. It was sort of a hodgepodge of different sorts of films all in one, but it worked more than it didn't. I was surprised when they introduced a monster, if you will, into the films, especially when that convention was mocked earlier in the film. I was a little pissed for not having seen this in a theater, I think the visuals would have been much more stunning....although they were already great.
I loved the first hour or so, though, I could have watched that sort of stuff for hours on end. They touch on a few interesting questions in the film, but don't really delve too deep into weighing the answers against one another. I liked most of the cast a lot, with the exception of Johnny Torch and his macho overload. The captain of the ship was in The Last Samurai, he was the Cruise finally has his sword fighting epiphany. So, yeah, I definitely liked it, appreciated some of the early pacing and thoughtfulness, but recognize, at least at my level, where it went astray here and there.

Cool. Yeah, the first hour was brilliant.
Cillian Murphy was excellent in this, too.

That movie is stuck in my head.
Watched the Lookout, enjoyed it. Joseph Gordon-Levitt has a great career in front of him, I think.

Brick will go up on my netflix queue shortly. I currently have Badlands and All The Real Girls here now, which I'm trying to find time to watch, but most free movie time is being spend on the Bond-a-thon. Which is perfectly fine by me.

The Bond-a-thon for me was a true one....not one film was watched between Dr. No and Casino Royale (which I still fucking love). I should get around to ranking the Bonds at some point.
So, now that Bond-a-thon is over, can watch other films...like Sunshine and The lookout, so far....and next will be For Your Consideration, then 3:10 to Yuma and the Assassination of Jesse James.....WKW-a-thon will take place after Season 3 of BSG is released and watched by me. Lance, I hope you like All the Real Girls as much as I think you will.

For Your Consideration is funny, but very different from the other Chris Guest flicks. It's not a mockumentary, which disappointed me at first, but it's still pretty funny. Catherine O'Hara owns it.
3:10 to Yuma was really satisfying. A horse explodes. Where is your God now, Christian Bale?

Funniest scene with a horse, for me, was watching the fake Rock Ridge get blown up in Blazing Saddles, and you see a little fake horse go up in the air. Of course, earlier on, a horse was punched in the face, and that's funny too.
So is this: ![]()

Power of teh internetz - I did show her Old Gregg in person though, she enjoyed that, too.
And she and a few other of my friends watched Big Trouble in Little China last night. Gonna save Lebowski for a bigger crowd, SATs the next day kept most of them from coming.
