The Joker

This is apparently the first official pic of Heath Ledger's Joker. What does everyone think of it? I'm still undecided...

There is a certain creepiness to it. Kind of like it though

Definitely creepy. Not sure how I feel about the cut/gashed smile, though.

I hope he can do the role justice, after Jack Nicholson.

Jack's Joker was great for the movie Tim Burton was making, but was completely over-the-top and "Jack as the Joker" and not just "The Joker," you know?

With Ledger's Joker, it would be darker and more true to the early and late '80s comics. A definite inspiration would be Alan Moore's "The Killing Joke".

My first exposure to Batman was the 'Burton' Batman of the late 80s and early 90s. That to me is always the 'real' batman. So Nicholson's Joker will always be the 'real' Joker for me. But this looks pretty creepy too. Kind of reminds me of Stephen King's 'It'.

He sort of reminds me of The Tooth Fairy from Manhunter.

Looks good to me. What I like about the new Batman movies is they are not cartoonish. I just hope "The Dark Knight" is as good as "Batman Begins". Looking forward to next summer. Indy 4 and Batman.

At first I didn't know what to think....but I'm a little creeped out by it now.

I'm waiting for the movie to come out to see how Ledger does with the Joker.

I don't know the comic book, but is Joker's smile supposed to be a scar? Which was the bad guy that got burned cause he fell into chemicals?
