I believe it's from the Achtung or Zooropa sessions. I don't have it in my Salome outtakes, so I would be leaning towards Zooropa. I do know I'm missing some of the Salome sessions from "AB", so don't take my word for it. It has the "Midnight is where the day begins" lyric from 'Lemon'. The verses seem to be set up like the verses from 'Discotheque', though in some parts. I don't know. It sounds very intriguing though. It also seems rough and unfinished like it was left in its very early demo stages.

Actually, this is one of the few out-takes that I've taken little interest in. Most people here who've heard it seem to love it, but it never struck me.

That said, did this one have its origins in the RAH Out-takes? For some reason that thought just occurred to me, but I can't remember if it's accurate or not ...

Yeah, that's accurate, Axver.

Rattle and Hum outtakes.

There's a 10 minute clip of that particular outtake on youtube :

This song is the best on the Axtung Beibi tapes and could go toe to toe with almost anything they've ever written, if it was just edited down to a manageable length.

For all their talk of "four guys in a room playing together", this song is what that really sounds like.

A few days ago I heard the same song from the Salomé tapes, but instead of She's gonna blow your house down, the lyrics to the chorus had the Wake up Dead Man line. Either way it's a great song with a cool chord progression.

This is definitely from the R&H video outtakes. Bono was very interested in the line "you can't return to the place you never left" - which we later hear in the b-side, Deep in the Heart.

I'm really more interested in the next song - We Almost Made it This Time. I don't think that one ever surfaced in one form or another.
